FAUT-IL DIRE LA VÉRITÉ ? COMMENT SE MANIFESTE LA VÉRITÉ QUI SE FAIT JOUR, QUI TRIOMPHE, LA VÉRITÉ QUI ÉCLATE ? LA RESSEMBLANCE EST-ELLE VÉRITÉ ? COMMENT CHASSER LA VÉRITÉ ? COMMENT BIEN VIVRE NOS MOMENTS DE VÉRITÉ ? NE PAS ACCEPTER LA VÉRITÉ EN FACE, LA NIER, LA FALSIFIER OU S’ÉCARTER DE LA VÉRITÉ, LA TRAHIR, TOUT AUTANT DE LIMITES À ATTEINDRE… BREF PEUT-ÊTRE FAUT-IL TAIRE LA VÉRITÉ ?

En ce temps-là, Ben écrit : « La vérité changera l’art ». En créant le Centre Mondial du Questionnement à la Fondation du doute à Blois, Ben a ouvert une vaste campagne d’exploration des limites, des frontières, une interrogation sur l’avenir des formes de l’art ; étant entendu que l’art fut aspiré dans un grand trou noir à cause de Marcel Duchamp, John Cage et Fluxus, il ne nous reste aujourd’hui, dit Ben, qu’à trouver d’autres vérités, d’autres territoires, d’autres formes. Les limites de l’art sont alors devenues pour nous « Les limites de la vérité…».

LE PAVILLON DES VÉRITÉS

À la Fondation du doute, le pavillon d’exposition temporaire se transforme en un environnement participatif et évolutif ; il est la mise en forme d’un questionnement, empli des voix et des paroles de grands penseurs de la vérité, à la fois espace participatif et ludique, espace d’exposition, lieu d’accueil des vérités avec canapés sonorisés et bassin bouillonnant, podium d’expression, œuvres de vérité… Pour une fois, tout reste à faire, à penser : pas d’œuvres définitives, pas de jugements définitifs, pas de savoirs définitifs, pas de vérités définitives, seulement des espaces à combler de vérités et de doutes. Donner du temps pour valoriser la «réception» du spectateur, pour qu’il puisse voir, rêver, lire, comprendre, être là afin d’envisager quelles peuvent être les limites de la vérité.

Partir d’un point de vue, celui du questionneur : le « douteur » de la fondation du doute pose la question des limites de la vérité en histoire, en science, en art, en philosophie et en tout domaine… avec la participation d’artistes, de personnalités de toutes les disciplines… Un programme sur deux jours mêlant communications, propositions artistiques, inauguration de l’œuvre d’Anna Byskov, bal masqué et autres temps forts.

SHOULD THE TRUTH BE TOLD ? HOW DOES THE EMERGING TRUTH MANIFEST ITSELF AS IT COMES TO LIGHT, AS IT TRIUMPHS – THE TRUTH BURSTING OUT ? IS RESEMBLANCE THE TRUTH ? HOW CAN THE TRUTH BE PURSUED ? HOW CAN OUR MOMENTS OF TRUTH BE FULLY EXPERIENCED ? A FAILURE TO CONFRONT THE TRUTH AND/OR DENYING TRUTH, FALSIFYING IT, DISTANCING ONESELF FROM IT, OR BETRAYING IT – SO MANY LIMITS TO BE FOUND... IN SHORT, MIGHT IT SIMPLY BE BETTER TO SILENCE THE TRUTH ?

At that time, Ben wrote: "The truth will change art." By establishing the Worldwide Centre for Questioning at the Doubt Foundation in Blois, Ben initiated a vast campaign to explore limits and frontiers, which is an in-depth interrogation about the future of art forms. Because it is a given that art was sucked into a huge black hole due to Marcel Duchamp, John Cage and Fluxus, Ben maintains that all that is left for us to do today is to find other truths, other territories, and other forms. In our view, the limits of art have thus become "the limits of truth..."

THE PAVILION OF TRUTHS

At the Doubt Foundation, the temporary exhibition pavilion is being transformed into an ever-changing participatory environment : it is laid out to give form to questioning, and is permeated by the voices and words of the great thinkers regarding Truth -- at once a participatory and entertaining space, this exhibition area is a reception hall for truths, with surround-sound sofas and whirlpools, an expression podium, works of truth, etc. For once, everything still needs to be done and imagined here: there are no definitive works, no definitive judgments, no definitive knowledge, only spaces to be filled with truths and doubts. The viewer needs time for enhanced "reception" so that he or she can see, dream, read, understand, and be here to consider what the limits of truth may be.

Setting out from the questioner's perspective: the "doubter" of the Doubt Foundation queries the limits of truth in history, in science, in art, in philosophy, and in every field... with the participation of artists and well known personalities in every discipline... it is a two-day programme that combines communications, artistic proposals, the inauguration of Anna Byskov's work, a masked ball, and many other highlights.
